Girl yes my kids were always stressed oveer testing! my biggest pet peeve was for sports awards and when they give them out it's almost the same kids getting them the whole time! my kids eventually wanted to stop going to the banquet because they knew they weren't getting anything

My girls get so stressed out during test time. Especially the younger one. She is just like me: MAJOR test anxiety, feels like a failure if she doesn’t get a perfect score. But she has ADHD & dyslexia & has never made a perfect score. I feel so sad for her & I try to let her know it’s not a test of her character & she is not a failure. She ends every school year feeling like she’s failed & starts the next year freaking out about everything she forgot over the summer. 🥺

Girl STOP IT!! This is my daughter to a T! She has been told so much IN SCHOOL, not here, that she needs to be perfect and on honor roll because she is just so smart it's a shame if she were to not be! Ohhhh girl I had a NICE LONG TALK with that teacher, let me tell you! Gia has anxiety about her grades and I just want her to enjoy life and know that everything will be ok no matter what she does because she is such a GREAT PERSON!!!! These kids have so much on their shoulders, it's terrifying!

💯 Totally agree with many of these points. Kids definitely need to fail a bit to learn from their mistakes, preservere, and even humble themselves. Having a 15yo, there is so much pressure to be perfect and a high academic achiever. My daughter is an A student but she's SO extremely competitive w herself to the point that it stresses her out

A lot of this comes down to the parenting. Too many parents today, put too much emphasis on being at the top of leaderboards. Whether it’s sports - academics, it doesn’t matter. And I think there’s too much emphasis placed on taking advanced classes. I think back to when I was in high school. It might’ve been in the 80s (😂) but what I remember, the most was the special memories that I made with my friends. I’m sad for kids today that don’t have that experience because they’re too worried about being the valedictorian. Kids need to be kids.
