as someone who works at an experience place that requires everyone to pay whether or not theyre participating and just want in...i used to feel bad and agree until I realized its a choice to come. nobody forces you and you agree to the terms by coming which is to pay for admittance. Parks are free and fun

Since you’re at Hershey I’m going to suggest Knoebels amusement park (also in PA) and it’s exactly what you want! Free to enter, pay to ride what you want to ride only/day ride passes available. And it’s the largest free amusement park in the United States!

I worked at a water park that did this! A lot of grandparents would take their grandkids but they weren’t going to go on any rides. They were given a spectator wristband instead of a regular one

They have no way of knowing you physically can’t. They also can’t keep you from riding them. They can only discourage it. People are free to do what they want. So they will pay the full price because at the end of the day, nothing is actually stopping you from getting on the rides.

If you’re close to Hershey, you should just go to Knoebels. And HP DID use to offer a “grandparent” ticket I believe.

I get what you’re saying but why would they just choose to make less money? They know you’re coming anyways because others are dragging you there. They have no incentive to. The only way to make these places cheaper is for us to all stop going.

Waldameer park and water works in Erie Pa doesn't charge admission if your just walking around. they even sell tickets if you only wanna ride certain rides and not all of them... Hershey part should follow suit.

Honestly even a late admissions fee. Like I don’t want to go early in the heat with all the kids. I want to go in the afternoon when all the kids are going home to nap. I can get a few hours in. Hershey is only like 1 hr 30 min from me but the price deters me because I don’t want to go all day.

This would be perfect for parents. My mom only came with whenever we used to go to wat ch over my stuff and take pictures, she cant/doesnt want to ride rides

I think that’s why Knoebels theme park in PA is ideal, it’s free to enter and you pay per ride or buy an unlimited ride pass. But it doesn’t cost anything to just be at the park!

The people who get it, get it. I want to go because I want to enjoy the experience with my family, but I can’t ride the rides. Put a big sticker on my forehead that says “nonrider” if that means I get a lower rate for being the bag holder 😂
