@heraldsun_: Taxpayer funds meant for road maintenance have been used to rent flashing signs warning commuters to "drive safe" through 20km of potholes on the Hume Freeway.
So you’d rather you weren’t warned? You literally said some recent rain caused it and they are patching it next week… Herald Sun reporting it at its finest…

I’m sure the missing $15B could go a long way to fixing these potholes

Pot holes should entitle every victim to compensation and or fines to the company maintaining the roads for failing to build them to a proper standard.

the signs are generally around $3400 for a 24 hour period....but that's Western Australia for timed projects

And on arterials Vic roads will only assist with payment for damage after you’ve paid the first $1600. That should be illegal.

They’re only interested in reducing the speed limits to 30klm

why do we have to have road worthy cars when the roads aren’t car worthy?

this is just an everyday drive in NY 😩 they never actually fix the roads just make it worse or block off the road completely. we have to get our cars inspected every year to make sure they are safe for the road....but yet our roads are never safe for our cars. you get use to it though and swerving to miss the pot holes becomes muscle memory. you even start to name the pot holes once you get used to them being around.

Is it going to take deaths for Labor to take this seriously and deal with it with urgency?! They spend more money on speed cameras and parking fines than they do on making our roads safe!!! Redirect parking officer money to this!!! Simple! What’s more important safe roads or fining someone for returning to their car a minute after the meter run out!

What do you expect under a Labor state and federal government. They are absolutely useless.

this is OUTRAGEOUS. Do we have a government to maintain infrastructure, or just let it decay and occasionally tell us that it's all gone to sh1t?
