Good advice! And major in something that is your passion. We like diversity. No shade to bio or chem majors but it’s what we see all day. I was a French major and it opened up a ton of interviews for me. Also when you do volunteer stuff, again find your passion. Don’t just check off a box. We want to feel that you’ve been inspired.

My advise is draw a flow chart from START to END . Look up Med school curriculum from the get go and take the pre reqs accordingly. Do Mcat test questions for each subject at the time you take it. Pretend you are ready to apply and actually start an application to see what’s needed . In other words : See the path with a BIRD’s EYE VIEW.

If I want to go pre med and want to major in psychology, does that matter or should I try to major in some sort of science?

Daughter is going to be a pre med college freshman in the fall. What could she be doing this summer to get clinical hours or experience? She does not have anybody in the field giving her good advice yet.

I get what you’re saying, but my daughters state college doesn’t offer many research, premed support options. So she’s transferring to UC to have more options in medical experience. Plus the school has a medical program for her to build relationships with the staff.

Unfortunately I couldn’t afford to go to uni my first year I’m at community. Will this lower my chances for med school?
