i felt the same way, until i left for a summer abroad a few weeks ago and i just experienced and great new experience and im realizing how much going back really affects me and what i choose to do on the daily, I LOVE doing things i’ve never done before

yess this! but i see going back as staying stagnant, like ur not growing or moving on but ur going back to sb that alr left for a reason n its usually the same ykwim? For me now, i just never look back n choose myself n new experiences 😭

i think a lot of it unfortunately also has to do with how society has evolved. specifically on the exes point, many find it extremely difficult to branch out and secure new partners because the dating scene is genuinely scary. people are treating each other so terribly which is resulting in a lack of willingness to actually want to meet new people. hook up culture is bigger than ever…it’s a mess. & as they say…the devil yk is often better than the one you don’t. there’s sm nuance to this convo but all that to say i think u make some good points here. thanks for sharing!

This is so fucking true and to hear it from this perspective is honestly like a little wake up call because it is so easy to stay comfortable and to stay to the things that you know and to go back to the things you know, I genuinely feel like anytime I experienced something new that benefits me. I learn so much from it. And it makes me want to do better and to get to know myself better in different ways. But easier said then done sometimes unfortunately
