@thebestfighter110: Srebrenica Genocide — July 1995 In July 1995, over 8,000 Bosniak Muslim men and boys were systematically executed by Bosnian Serb forces in Srebrenica, a UN-declared "safe area." It was the worst massacre in Europe since World War II—and the only genocide on European soil since the Holocaust, ruled as such by the ICTY and the International Court of Justice. The violence did not stop at execution. Thousands of Bosniak women and girls were subjected to rape and sexual violence as a deliberate weapon of war and ethnic cleansing—used to terrorize, humiliate, and destroy communities. Many were forcibly deported, separated from their families, and traumatized in ways that scarred generations. The international community, including a small Dutch UN peacekeeping force, failed to prevent the atrocity. Decades later, bodies are still being found in mass graves, and survivors continue to seek justice and recognition. We remember the victims. We honor the survivors.
