I'd never give an employer 2 weeks notice. They certainly wouldn't give me 2 weeks notice if they were terminating my employment.

Gave mine 2 weeks. They insisted I give 3 weeks. I said my new employer would not wait 3 weeks. They let me go that day and didn't give me my 40 hour PTO that I had accrued.

The company owes you nothing. You terminated your own employment. Use your PTO prior to giving notice. They don’t have to pay you. It’s not a law.

This actually happened to me, and since they terminated me and didn't pay those 2 weeks, I got unemployment. It was a whole show. They disputed the unemployment and after they found out I recorded that meeting, where she fired me, I won🤣😂🤣😂

People like me would look at person in the eye and say well. The company either pays me or I’m gonna take two weeks pay from you. It’s your choice.

This actually happened to a friend of mine. She sued and EASILY won. Just remember, EVERYTHING IN WRITING! Your notice, who you sent it to, put your personal email on ALL communications. Tell them you want ANYTHING they say, IN WRITING. Incidentally, she won not only the 2 weeks compensation, but also got paid for "damages." Lawyers will work for free until you get paid out (contingency) and they are mostly pretty good.
