I literally dug up my front yard to find a water leak so I wouldn't have to pay the plumber to dig. Just had to pay him to fix the pipe

I dont buy gifts anymore. I am generous in other ways… I have helped most of my family and friends declutter their homes or help them with organisation that overwhelms them. Time spent together is better than time at the shopping mall.

I cut my own hair and hubby dyes it for me too! We have been renovating our bedroom (It was a granny flat kitchen) My hubby has diy the whole thing himself (minus the electrical work) by watching YouTube videos. Demo, capping off plumbing, sheeting the walls, tiling, cornice, skirts.

Last year my husband and I dug up our old lawn and I laid the turf by myself in 5 hours on my one day off with the kids in daycare. Whole lawn Reno cost like $2.3k

my husband and best friend fixed my car. rather than paying $1000+ for labour and parts. my husband bought the part for $350 and him and my best friend pulled out the broken part and fitted the new part. my husband also did this when the locking mechanism broke on my car too. paid $80 for a second part and changed it himself rather than paying $500+ I also cut my husbands hair and beard 🤣

80k after tax feels low but honestly it depends on how much rent is in your area. We live on 90k with a 1 year old and thats just enough with one car and $540 rent but if we live in the country with $350 it would be better.

Hubby and I earn about 90k per year between Centrelink and jobs and we have 2 kids and things are tight. I'd say... 70k is on the low end?

I cut and colour my own hair, do my own gel nails, and brow tint! It’s a great money saver but also I love that I can do these things at home whenever I like and don’t have to go to appointments.
