It's a good scene but I can see why they dropped it, it rips away the ultimate message that these kids might grow up to be more than what people see them as on the surface.

If it were added then it would kind of explain why they’d began to act differently towards the end as to defy their own destiny by becoming who they want instead of what surroundings turn them into.

Apparently Hughes wanted to make a sequel showing the characters in their 30s, but he couldn't find a good enough reason that would put the characters together again.

Its too indulgent. I understand what they were going for here tho. The movie has them preoccupied with their homelives and their school lives, so making jabs at their anxieties for the future should they continue their paths might’ve also been added fuel to the angst. But he ran off too long without any pushback. I feel that if they shot a more concise scene it would have stayed and the movie would be better for it

If there was ever a sequel, this should be the first scene, then the movie would explore how his predictions did NOT happen, but despite breaking free from their stereotypes, they still have unresolved flaws and issues.
