The movement was linked to political violence before South Africa's first democratic elections in 1994. Following Terre'Blanche's death in 2010, the AWB's influence declined significantly. As of 2026, it still exists as a small fringe organisation with limited membership and little political influence. While it occasionally appears in the media through statements, protests or online activity, it has no representation in government and is widely rejected by the broader South African public.
