“you’re too nice all the time” yeah, because I know what it feels like to be treated otherwise “so you don’t like lies? not even little white lies? they’re meaningless!” no I don’t, because when I told the truth I was accused of telling one. “therapy is such a scam! You’re reliving it!” it’s not, and I am a bit yeah, because I didn’t have the opportunity to process it when it was happening to me the first time, or the second time, or the third. and I don’t want to carry it anymore, so I’m choosing to process it now, on my own terms and in my own time, and I need help to keep me safe while I do that. “you need to toughen up!” no thanks, I’ve been tough my whole life, I’m havin time off “you’re so emotional!” yep. this is the first time in my life I’ve felt safe enough to be, it’s a lot for me too, actually. “you’re hard to get close to” yeah, I have lost almost every friend I’ve ever made in the last 6 months, I’m genuinely terrified to let you in and lose you too “you’re getting your spark back!” probably the nicest thing you could say to me, I’ve fought like hell “you’re so happy all the time!” I think I just really appreciate when times are good because for so long they just weren’t. and I appreciate kindness and warmth from people so much because I have lived in it’s absence “you’ll be fine” I think so too 🤍 #healing #growth #postbreakup #bigsister #mid20s - @clairechampion_
