The argument hinges on the idea that for genuine free will to exist, there must be a meaningful choice; love and obedience mean absolutely nothing if they are forced by a total lack of alternatives. The presence of the serpent simply provided the necessary testing ground for Adam and Eve to either freely trust God's command or choose their own path. Crucially, while God perfectly foreknew the outcome, foreknowledge is not the same as causation. Just because God knew what they would choose doesn't mean He forced their hand much like watching a replay of a game means you know exactly what happens next without actually playing on the field meaning the ultimate responsibility for the choice rested entirely on human agency, not divine orchestration.
