Just to make 1 thing clear- Reece's husband isn't controlling. At all. He supports and helps her. He's happy she's retiring because it means he gets to spend more time with her and as you see in the 3rd season if you watch the Netflix dcc- it's starting to take a physical toll on her body and she's getting injured. He isn't trying to control her at all.
