Yanks have a deep misunderstanding of European phenotype variation. They think that only Southern Europeans can have olive skin. This is a lie. Northern Europe received the same ancient migrations that Southern Europe received, which means that olive skin is found all over Europe, including in Northern Europe. British people like Carrie Grant and Catherine Zeta Jones have the same skin tone as an olive skinned Mediterranean person because of the shared ancestry of people groups such as the Yamnaya pastoralists and the Anatolian neolithic farmers who inhabited both North Europe and South Europe.
