I believe Kabukimoto wholeheartedly loved Ei, like how a chick will love the first thing it sees, no matter what it does to him. Then, Scaramouche detested Ei, just as most children did their absentee parent—resenting their lack of action, yet still hoping to earn their disapproving gaze and craving their unneeded praise. And now, Wanderer harbors neither love nor hate, but only a bitter taste in his mouth, reserved for the creator who had never been his mother. There are a lot of happier what-ifs in life, but just not with him and Ei. Thats why forgettance is best ending reserved for the two in my opinion—it’s the closest thing they will ever get to peace.

i want yall to realize that the golden feather isn’t ONLY significant bc it connects him to ei. in reality it’s what was given to him as a sign of identity rather than a name. in a journey about ever evolving individuality in titles and status, he kept that identifying symbol. it carries more nuance than just being something from ei, as it greatly serves to his personal journey of change as well.

The fact that Ei would be the ONLY person who has some recollection of Scara because she still remembers creating that puppet in the very beginning, but likely remembers nothing else about him (He was still created, but every event in history aside from his birth was erased from Irmunsal)

You know what pains me most? Its that even though Wanderer will have to bear the pain and burden of being "Scaramouche", "Kunikuzushi" and "Kabukimono", he will NEVER have anyone that ever remembers him as his time as them (aside from Traveler, Paimon, and Nahida, of course.). Anyone who he EVER had a relationship with will NEVER remember who he is, nor how he affected them. Even Ei, his own mother, would only silently question who he truly is. The feeling of being forgotten by someone that matters the most to you, THAT'S what hurts the most. The fact that no matter HOW hard he wants them to remember, they won't. So he carries the burden of remembering THEM withiut being remembered back.
