It might be your body language. I used to get this a lot when I myself was hypervigilant and overly looking at everyone/everything. The nervous alertness catches people’s attention (even if only subconsciously) and makes them look at you to find what’s wrong. It’s a survival instinct since we’re a social species, bc what you’re afraid of might harm them too so they feel they need to look

It’s not because of attractiveness yall. People naturally look at new things and people in their area. I’ve noticed it at work. Whenever someone walks by the room I’m in, I look up unconsciously. Everyone else does the same when I walk by and I see it as “staring” but it’s not it’s just normal

it’s just anxiety / halo effect! everyone is their own light. Remember that. Everyone is mainly just focused on how they’re perceived. sometimes people space out and don’t realize they’re looking at someone until that person looks at them, too. I feel it but it’s probably in your head

I figured it out later in life that it’s because people are admiring something about you - looks, style, etc. To people who aren’t attention seekers, who used to be bullied, have social anxiety, have insecurities and/or low self esteem, it gets internalized as people staring because something is wrong. The great majority of the time, that’s not the case. Consider yourself a work of art and view the looks as positive. Smile at people or speak when they look.
