@yvetteinswitz: ‘Geburtstafeln’ is the cutest Swiss tradition ever 🥹❤️🇨🇭 In Switzerland, it is tradition to give a name plaque when a child is born & these hand-painted signs are called ‘Geburtstafeln’. Each piece is unique & lovingly handcrafted with a cute animal along with their birthdays & first name. Some families leave the signs up for a long time, so that the neighbors can remember the names more easily & the children are integrated more quickly . Adding to the tradition, friends/relatives also plant a tree for the child, decorating it with toys or colorful ribbons. A tree is a symbol of fertility, prosperity & growth. Depending on how well the tree grew, it was assumed that the baby would be healthy 🥹❤️ P/S I know I've shared this tradition before but my friends just gave birth to 2 precious babygirls this year & I just wanted to share again for the mummies out there 🥹❤️🫶🏻✨️
