He’s the only one who’s ever understood what my heart really looks like and how to take care of it. He’s gentle and kind and understanding and is always there when I need him. He’s familiar and he was from the start, certain things remind me of myself. He filled the holes best friends and family have left and replaced the disappointment I’ve felt for so long in other people with hope. Thinking about this chokes me up a lot, and the words to say how I feel are very hard to find. I remember our second date quite frequently, when I left in a panic because he respected my boundaries and genuinely cared as a person. There were days I use to think I didn’t deserve love like that or that love was supposed to be hard and painful. But coming up on almost a year of being with him, has made me remember and realize that love isn’t supposed to hurt - it’s gentle, patient, understanding, and accepting - it’s respectful, and always acting in the best interest of the both involved. I asked the universe so many times for love like this, and I would go through all the hard times again to be where I am now. I love this man with the very fiber of my being, so incredibly much.
