@chrisannford: The phrase “the heart of the home” gets used a lot, but I’ve been thinking about what it actually means. And no, I don’t think every family should refuse help. There are seasons when outsourcing is wise, necessary, or even life-giving. But I do think it’s worth asking ourselves a question: As our culture offers more and more ways to outsource everyday life, are we also outsourcing some of the small, repetitive acts that quietly knit a family together? Because the heart of a home isn’t built in grand gestures. It’s built in thousands of unnoticed ones. Maybe homemaking has never been about the cleaning or the cooking themselves. Maybe it’s always been about the love those ordinary tasks make visible. Or are we “buying back valuable time?” Thoughts? #homemaker #sahmroutine #sahmlife #singleincomefamily #motherhoodunplugged
This really hits home for my family. Out of necessity, we decided to become a one income family, but it has been a pure blessing to become a sahm and provide for my children in that way. We were also able to open our eyes more and see how awful daycare systems have become. This lifestyle change was a blessing from God and has brought us closer together.
