He did his job as a criminal defense attorney. Unfortunately the prosecutor was young and inexperienced, but that was not his job to do hers. Ultimately, we all have to learn in order to grow.

It was absolutely the judge’s responsibility to not let a miscarriage of justice in his own court.

Don’t be mad at the lawyer. They’re doing the job they were hired to do. In our justice system, a defense attorney’s responsibility is to advocate for their client. It’s the judge’s responsibility to ensure the law is followed, and it’s the jury’s responsibility to determine guilt or innocence based on the evidence presented.

I’m actually crying listening to this story but what got me most was how upset you got telling us the story! This is the 1st time I’ve ever seen or heard a lawyer actually speak about other people who can’t afford top lawyers with such heart and empathy and compassion for others ❤️

for those that don't understand a lawyers legak process. if a lawyer works for the firm and the firm takes the job if the lawyer is given the case the need to take it and try to win since their reputation and job is at stake. even if the lawyer doesnt work for a firm, contracts and legal lawfully binding oaths and agreement are sworn and signed before the lawyer finds out most of the stuff that might make them not want to represent the client. but its to late. and if they lawyer then tries to lose or refuse council in an unprofessional way, not only can they be sued for a lot of money they could lose their client base and possibly even disbarred
