I just traveled 4,000 miles on a overlanding trip that covered 6 states and nearly a dozen national parks, buying groceries every other day and restocking my onboard refrigerator… do you realize how many grocery stores exist in little towns? Stores that sell eggs and hardware in the same shop. Folks will be alright. Also most of these folks that live in rural areas are self sufficient. I stopped at a small ranch and had fresh eggs and steak, had fresh milk. Slept in my roof top tent overlooking vineyards. All these folks will be just fine.
