it’s almost like the conclusion isn’t the most important part of a story. Knowing the ending doesn’t invalidate how you get there and all of these arcs that you were dismissive of are quite compelling and challenge and change (or reinforce lack of change in) Tony in interesting ways. it’s also thematically appropriate to have this rotating cast as that’s the nature of their work, guys will get greedy or arrogant or flip and there’s no dodging the bill forever. i knew the ending of the show before i ever watched it, didn’t affect my enjoyment one iota. in fact, it made me appreciate all the groundwork laid to set it up, a lot of which you wrote off here.
