I’m a therapist. If there’s one thing I know about people it’s that a lot of the time, the thing they’re upset about has nothing to do with what they’re upset about. Sometimes the thing that sends us over the edge is just a very small thing that tipped the scales of 100 other things we’ve been trying to hold in for weeks or months or years. For all we know she’s dealing with health issues, relationship issues, financial issues, work issues, and she decided to do one nice thing for herself to help her cope and on the day she decided to do the one nice thing, someone made a rude comment about it and it flipped the switch. Maybe that’s what happened and maybe not, but people are generally much more complex than what we actually see on the surface. I think it’s always kind to give people the benefit of the doubt. You only saw her in one small moment without any other context. Cut her some slack. It sounds like she pulled it back together. I hope she liked her haircut.
