My one regret as a parent (mine are 21 & 18) is saying "Maybe in a little bit" too many times (hell, even once) because too often "in a little bit" didn't come that day. When you get home and you kid says "Daddy/Mommy can we...(throw the ball, play dolls, play a game, whatever)" the answer should ALWAYS be yes. I don't care how tired you are. They're not asking for a 3 hour commitment. They want some of your time because they miss you. One day they'll stop asking because they grew up. It'll be then that you'll wish they'd ask just one more time.
