I think Joyous is LITERALLY the ancestor of Phaethon, the amounts of times the legend of Phaethon was put into ZZZ with Eous and Pyrois being one of the four horses of Helios's chariot, and Phaethon's reaction in the legend to finding out that Helios was his father... What if? Same goes with Joyous being Phaethon's ancestor?

At this point, I think they are not clones or children of void hunters. Instead they are just 2 orphans that were experimented on by their teacher to try and recreate first generation void hunter strength. We already know the newer generation void hunters have nothing on the first generation. Helios academy was a front to try and make new void hunters that could rival the first generation. We also know the Mayor knew about what was really going on in Helios. That the Mayor would do just about anything to get his hands on Void hunters. That’s why he’s been helping us so much. He’s grooming the MC into becoming a void Hunter. Belle/wise’s ethereal other didn’t start feeling weird until they got the contact lenses from the Mayor.
