Slight correction - for the “cheat” method you need to use the at the money forward strike not the at the money spot strike. Normally wouldn’t make that much difference but could do if you had a relevant dividend or high interest rates for example.

can't you just use the implied move data on the options chain? isn't that 1 std dev? like in the TOS trade screen
