@iamjodibrown: I think one of the most underrated skills we need as we get older is adaptability. And I’m not just talking about the big moments. The “life knocked me down and I had to rebuild everything” moments. I’m talking about everyday adaptability. The ability to adjust. Shift. Change direction. Figure it out. I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately because life has handed me a few opportunities to practice it. Electricity issues. Housing questions. Changing plans. Making decisions with incomplete information. And honestly? That’s life. I always think about pinball machines. Our generation grew up with them. You hit the paddle. The ball goes flying one direction. Then it hits something else and changes course. Then you hit another paddle and redirect it again. That’s kind of how life works. And somewhere between all those bumps and redirects… We learn to adapt. But I don’t think we give ourselves enough credit for how many times we’ve already done it. So here’s what I want you to do: Grab a pen and paper. Write down the times in your life when you adapted like a mofo. The times you figured it out. The times you changed direction. The times you made things work when you weren’t sure you could. Because sometimes we need evidence of our own capabilities. Put it on paper. Look at it. You’ve probably handled more than you realize. Now tell me… What’s one time in your life when you surprised yourself with how adaptable you were? Drop it in the comments. Let’s get adaptable, baby. 😄 I am Jodi Brown. Yes, I am. Just a gal with a big mouth trying to use it in a good way. #LifeRedesign #WomenOver60 #Adaptability #StartingOver #IAmJodiBrown
