Q & A Ep 426 Diana RodriguezQ & A with Sharon's son, George Episode 426 Special Guest Diana Rodriguez, Reclaiming My Essence: Why I Named My Parkinson’s Personality Listen to The TogetherForSharon® Podcast on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/episode/3KT9l9URY4bCaXdTyy767F?si=KespY2drSTWUs-6uSqg-VA TogetherForSharon® In memory of my mother, Sharon to voice awareness & hope for a Parkinson's Disease cure. I'm 41 years old, a wife, a mom to one incredible 13-year-old boy, a business coach, an artist at heart, and now, someone living with Parkinson's disease. I was born and raised in Colombia and immigrated to Canada when I was 14 years old. Looking back, that experience taught me resilience early in life and helped shape the person I am today. Creativity has always been part of who I am. I originally trained as a makeup artist, and to this day, I can completely lose myself in anything artistic. Whether it's theatre and special effects makeup, painting, drawing, or creating visual designs on a computer, those are the moments where time disappears and I find pure joy and peace. The people closest to me would probably describe me as a free spirit. I believe deeply in finding joy in the little things and choosing gratitude, even when life gets hard. I've always felt that every challenge comes with a purpose, and that mindset became especially important when Parkinson's entered my life. My Parkinson's journey began in 2022 when my right hand started to shake. At first, I didn't think too much of it, but as time went on, I started noticing other changes that felt far more significant than a tremor… My philosophy is simple: keep doing the things that bring you joy until you truly can't do them anymore. So I keep moving.
