You need to reach failure to grow a good amount of muscle. That’s how muscle grows, you need to make it adapt and grow by pushing your limits. You need to show your body that more muscle is needed, cause you’re failing

Its not rocket science and this many sets and that many sets doesnt matter when your diet is trash and you dont even take any vitamins and minerals to aid your recovery. Just train intensely (close to or to failure) and see how your body handles 5-10 or 20 sets per muscle group for the week and go from there. Jeff N suggests anything more than 20 is junk but even junk builds muscle just not at the same rate as the initial sets. Your first 2 sets build the most muscle remember that, but more will do more of course at the expanse of fatigue. Boost your recovery to counter act your fatique (pro diet, sleep, etc).

Thank god. Finally… someone who actually knows what they’re doing giving fitness advice. I literally just watched a kid in PJ bottoms give me machine chest press pointers.

So, it is not about volume but about reaching "max" intensity and recovery. Equally maybe even more important is to eat a well balanced diet.

Okay does per muscle mean per muscle group or literally 10 sets a week of quad, 10 sets of hams, 10 sets of calves, etc

im training every 72hours and Im not recovering from more than 8 weekly sets in most of the muscle groups being some of them even lower (4-6). No intensifiers, controlling RIR, eating a bunch of carbs around the workout, and I cannot progress consistently with more volume.

I'm honestly just first set maxxing. makes the following sets high intensity (and tells me I can increase the weight on strength days too)
