I'm not saying these things for sympathy, for attention, or to complain. I greatly appreciate the kindness so many of you show me, but there's no need to say "I'm sorry you went through that." it's okay. ❤️‍🩹 it happened years ago and I've made my peace with all of the bad memories I have from that time in my life, and I'm in a good place now. I wouldn't talk about it if it made me uncomfortable (like I said in the vid, there are many horrors from that relationship that I will never, ever share with another human being.) I'm saying these things because there are a lot of types of abuse. because someone being abused doesn't look a certain way. because someone being abusive doesn't look a certain way. because there are a lot of reasons people stay with abusers. because there are a lot of struggles that come with being in an abusive relationship, and even more when you're also very mentally ill. because there are a lot of ways those who are being abused can hide their abuse. because there are a lot of ways those who are being abused can easily live in denial and justify what's happening to them. because there are people who aren't as lucky as I was, and they end up dying at the hand of their abuser. like I said in this video, my self hatred went so deep that I truly didn't realize what he was doing was wrong. I believed it was something I deserved. I believed this was just what relationships were like for worthless people like me (having no self worth is actually one of three specific symptoms that come with having CPTSD.) and by the time I finally started to wake up and realized just how bad things were, I was afraid I was far too late to escape. I'm so happy that wasn't the case. never judge someone who is being abused, you have no idea of what the turmoil in their brains is like. and if you are being abused, know that you aren't alone. you deserve love, respect, and happiness. you have so much worth. and please never give up hope. ❤️‍🩹 oh, one last thing. there's a question some of you may be wondering. the answer to it can be found in my pinned video. 👁️👄👁️👍 #abuse #domesticabuseawareness #recovery #MentalHealth #fyp
