American history and church history were the same thing to me as a kid. I remember in 3rd grade I had to write a historical fiction paper (1 page) about president Taft. I wrote it about Ezra Taft Benson 😅

It is fascinating. I was raised mormon and recall July 24th being a bigger deal than the 4th. It was deeply frowned upon to join the military instead of going on a mission.
