Love the optimizing for market value, so well said! I always criticize jumping just for pay - and that is literally why - you gotta optimize for lifetime earnings not just an immediate pay bump.

It’s all about the four P’s: Pay, People, Purpose, Progress. Some jobs provide none, others provide a few. If you get one that provides all 4 then fight for that job.
