@kiramlynn: Planning a trip to Iceland in August? Here’s what you can expect. 🇮🇸 Late August was the perfect time to visit. We had sunshine, light sprinkles and one full day of rain, crisp temperatures in the 50s, and plenty of Iceland wind. Some of the highlights: -We saw puffins just before they migrated for the season. -We captured the northern lights on camera, though they weren’t visible to the naked eye. -F roads and hiking trails were open. -The landscape was the most incredible green. The best scenery was looking out the window on a drive to the next stop. Crowds were surprisingly manageable. The busiest spots were Gullfoss and the Blue Lagoon. Gullfoss is absolutely worth the visit, but if you’re looking for a quieter waterfall nearby, don’t skip Faxafoss. As for lagoons, we choose Sky Lagoon over Blue Lagoon and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. It felt more relaxing, super luxurious and it’s an adults-only experience. If you’re wondering whether August is a good time to visit Iceland, I’d absolutely recommend it.
