These 5 exercises are not only safe but also effective for strengthening your core and supporting your body during pregnancy! ✨ 1. Bear Crawl Hold: Start on all fours and exhale as you “zip up” from your pubic bone to your belly button. Lift your knees slightly off the ground, keeping a flat back and stable core. Hold for 10-20 seconds. This wakes up your transverse abdominis muscles and builds stability! ✨ 2. Side Bridge Adductor Squeeze Choose a modification that works for you, knees bent or legs straight. Exhale to wrap your core around your baby and lift your hips, keeping them aligned with your shoulders. Make sure your front hip bones stay facing forward to really engage your oblique muscles. ✨ 3. Supported Marches Use your arms to support you as much as you need. Draw your deep core, then march one knee up at a time. This will encourage your deep transverse abdominis muscles and strengthen your rectus abdominis muscles too. ✨ 4. Half-Kneeling Paloff Press: Set up in a half-kneeling position with a resistance band or cable at belly-button height. Engage your lower belly like you’re giving your baby a hug. Exhale as you press the band straight out, keeping your hips and chest square. Inhale to return. Avoid aching your back as you press. This will encourage your obliques to turn on to prevent excessive rotation for better lower body stability. ✨ 5. Suitcase Marches: Hold a weight in one hand and keep your ribcage stacked over your pelvis. Don’t let the weight pull your body to the side. Engage your core, march one leg up, and balance before switching sides. Work on keeping your body stable throughout! Single leg balance will help encourage your deep transverse abdominis to be active and the weight on 1 side will allow for oblique activation.  📲If you want more week-by-week pregnancy workouts.
