He was born on 12 January 1958 and has been a leading figure in Ghanaian gospel music for over four decades. 3. Although he traces his roots to Kwahu Obomeng and Kwahu Atibie, he has lived most of his life in Koforidua, where he built much of his music ministry. 4. He attended Presbyterian Elementary Schools and Koforidua Technical Institute, where he received his early education. 5. His music ministry began in the late 1970s, making him one of Ghana’s longest-serving gospel musicians. 6. He has released more than 56 albums and recorded over 500 songs, including classics like Oko No Wako Awie, Mempa Aba, Hallelujah, and Odimafo (Tongues). 7. In 2016, he received an Honorary Doctorate in Sacred Music in recognition of his outstanding contribution to gospel music. 8. He won a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Ghana Music Awards South Africa for his lasting impact on gospel music. 9. He is married to Philomina Mireku, and together they have two children, Evelyn and James. 10.
