i’ve had my switch to for about a month and a half!! you do not have to buy a brand new game!! they have upgraded packs that are literally $4!! some of them you even get for free if you have a sub subscription!! breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom both have free upgrades if you get the yearly subscription!! in fact, write this very moment. I’m playing Pokémon legends Arceus, which I bought when I had my original switch.!! and now I have my switch too, and I’m playing it!!

honestly the switch 2 is one of the most completely backwards compatible system like 99% of switch 1 games work perfectly fine on the switch 2 and a few work you just need to buy switch 1 joy cons

Most of the weird Nintendo misinformation is from misunderstanding a grain of truth, but this? I guess a small amount of Switch1 games aren't playable, but I've yet to find a game I personally own that isn't. Like I guess the Kill la Kill arena fighter doesn't work on Switch 2, but it still works on Switch1!

You can run switch 1 games natively on Switch 2. Even Switch 2 Editions games like Hades 2 can work on both systems.

I think the only games that had bad compatibility were xenoblade but I believe those were fixed now. Especially since they did that update where switch 1 game can run in docked mode on switch 2
