sekai commonly means world but it can translate to universe depending on the context, it is often used w universe, realm, or society. the picture u showed when kisuke says “our universe consists the living world that were in right now. among others aswell as soul society.” he is outlining the multiverse cosmology. he means that existence is divided into distinct universes. the three primary realms being the world of the living, the physical universe where humans reside. soul society, the parallel afterlife universe where spirits go after death, it is entirely composed of spirit particles n functions as an overlapping, mirror image universe to the living world. hueco mundo, an entirely separate barren dimension that serves as the habitat 4 hollows. urahara explanation emphazizes that these three realms r not js different planets in the same space but entirely separate spacetimes separated by dimensional boundaries. they r held in place by the existence of the soul king, n bc they mirror eachother, an unstable loss of souls or energy in one realm can theaten the stability of the others. uraharas phrasing in the scan u showed means they r separate universes that belong to the same cosmic system, rather than being inside the same physical universe. “our universe consists of the living world that were in rn” by putting a hard stop there, he defines our physical, human reality as its own complete universe. when he immediately follows it up w “among others as well as the soul society” the phrase “among others” means “among other universes.” the original jp text uses the word sekai which translates to world or society like u said b4, but in early offical english translations like shown, they chose to translate it to universe. not to mention the manga explicitly states the world of the living, soul society n hueco mundo are separated by the dangai, which has its own isolated time axis n space time framework. bc they dont share the same space time continuum n both contain independent outerspace, stars, n galaxies, they are separate universal continuums. the garganta isnt js space, its a hyperspace void that contains multiple infinite universes. not that hard to read 😂
