We need to stop accepting weaponised "incompetence" in these cases. Admitting the non-operative fractures under ortho means the patient gets an ortho-trained nurse, more specialist PT/OT and access to the acute pain service (who, in our trust, refuse to see patients in non-surgical beds regardless of pathology). You can always call geriatrics for a review if needed.
