they are right though, I'm in the middle of Marie route and all the fights always end either without a resolution or by the hands of a Deus ex machina, and it's not like in between that they relly on any creative problem solving or personal stakes. A lot of the ideas are also executed with an obvious superficial illusion of depth through focus on aesthetics, therefore i can see how it can feel analogues to fanfiction, like an incoherent collection of inspirations without the craft to appropriate them within a unified or at least meaningful context.
