i often say "idk what i want to study" because i know i will never feel comfortable with a path. i like the change, to rediscover myself every day. i can't say i will go to law school because it will mean to let my writing, films history and bio passions die. i feel everything i love is too complex to label it as only one major, one career. i will never truly find myself if i box myself all my life by a decision i was never sure of in fact.

A poets life is a harrowing path, it is only filled with obstacles that dwindle your chances at success, the people whisper: what good is a poet to the ever growing world? What good are dreamers who bring nothing to the table other than their feeble writings? (I wanted to be a writer so bad. I hope that the millions of students who are pondering what they should do for their future find the match that lights them up within, In another life i would’ve loved to take on a literature major where i wouldve been surrounded by all my literary work but for now, all i can do is continue stuffing my nose into becoming an astounding doctor)

It feels like choosing a path leads to the loss of a part of myself. Picking only one thing and sticking to it for the rest of my life is such an uncanny concept to me, because it feels like having to leave everything else that defines me—like being in the body of someone else who completely lost their spark.

this made me think of the poem “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost. If I chose one major, ill always wonder what’s it like if i picked the other major? how different my life would be and how would my life turns out? either way id feel lost and im barely passionate about anything

This reminds me of a chapter Adam Grant wrote in his book ' think again ' ,it was really eye opening i think if you struggle with this you should read it. The entire book isnt about specifically this but theres one chapter that goes into detail about it
