be building apps, games, website etc. yes I use ai to help with questions or ideas. but I do the hard work on working out how to build it or how to fix the thing i broke

Here Senior ML engineer, it is definitely a problem of noise, and people (who are commonly non/barely technical) talking about it.. AI helps you make you faster, give you less friction when writing code, but the job of software engineers have never been just coding, it's implement things that scale given business requirements, architect, design and in the end build things with software, the stacks and tools always change

Since AI came out, people in my office with no coding knowledge have started thinking that building an app is easy. They don't see the architecture, debugging, security, testing, scalability, and maintenance behind the scenes. Developers everywhere: "Looks like our years of hard work have become invisible." 😅

same Here all that noise made me drop out of university don't get me wrong I know how to program I more than 3 languages but now I can't get a job coz I don't have a degree am now stuck with the skills and no capital I have build countless apps but can't publish it anywhere I can't stop building though coz it's what I have been doing since I was like 11 now am 23 I wish there was a way I could publish without paying.... guys don't drop out regardless of what you think is in the future

If you use AI to develop with a technology you don't fully master yet, you will probably master it never. AI pushes constantly to do everything and if you have someone behind expecting 10x because you have AI you will, despite good intentions, delegate everything to the AI and learn nothing.

AI is taking its real shape, it is there to enhance people to work faster now. It will not replace developers, devs who don't understand AI will get replaced by devs who integrated it into their job. So saying AI will take over, is equally stupid as saying it will burst and disappear. The truth is somewhere in the middle as always
