At my job they had me helping with interviews for people making more than me. I was making $12.50 and these people were coming in at $14. When I found that out I refused to help with interviews.

That’s when you leave that job and become the new person at another job that gets paid more

Yeah that’s why I don’t train anyone unless I’m being compensated for the extra work that not part of my actual duties

at my job externals get paid more than internals. Imagine being told your loyalty and dedication to the company means nothing when someone else chose to leave their old job for this one. Love seeing externals quit months later, like what did you expect from someone who was willing to drop their old job for a new one offering more money? Companies learning they are also replaceable makes me giggle 😂

I was training people in Seattle (I’m from Bremerton) who were making $4 more than me because of the minimum wage difference… I was like damn you couldn’t even give me extra money to train them

Once they figured I wasn’t gonna work for less they got rid of me and increased everybody else’s pay

Not at my workplace, if they raise starting pay, then they make sure to raise everyone else's pay.

Yes my long-term coworkers are very underpaid and it's like WTF. One of them found out my higher pay and freaked out. They had to promote him in some way 🦾 The manager told me not to discuss my increases 😭

im a firm believer that (when applicable) jobs need to have someone specifically be the "Trainer" and pay them more for it. I hated walking into my 12+hr shifts and finding out I'm training someone all day for no extra pay. how is this my job on top of my actual job?? as a basic employee it simply isn't, it 100% falls on management.

It’s logical because when someone is new in a workplace want to prove his worth, rather than the old one

Then when you question it you get told, you negotiated poorly when you started 😳

It happens a lot, especially if the trainee was hired in a rush to fill the position.

Not every work place. If your strong enough to train my new hires your strong enough to be promoted. You bring more value. I have a very happy team with avg tenure over 3 years in a customer service position.
