GENSHIN 6.6 SPOILERS ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ i was really hoping for information about his birth up to akademiya days, but they immediately started at his expulsion…nonetheless the lore drop was really amazing. what i love the most about the segments is the way you can see dottore slowly losing touch of zandik. i feel that when you look at the original segment, most likely because of his old age, he was almost like…calming down? for lack of better words. i personally felt as though the 65 segment and the 85 year old zandik were very like…not less ambitious but just more settled down? which i suppose does make sense. you can see this in the reactions of the segments to their deaths as well, as the 65 year old just remarks on how he could have behaved this way when he was younger … anyways that aside, you can see as he gets older, he really does begin to fill into the role of dottore. the child dottore seemed to have a very blank look on his face, and yet as a child he was always very curious, up to the point he was already making research proposals, and along with the fact that you see he did not seem phased or disturbed by the dissection at all. the akademiya zandik had a very stern almost serious look on his face, solidifying the aspect of him being a very rigid student. and yet at this point he is still zandik. by the time he’s 25, he’s joined the fatui and we can see that his outfit has changed. the child zandik wore clothes of sumeru and ofc 18 wore his school uniform, and by 25 his attire is that of a doctors, and note that this is the segment that begins to cover the bottom half of his face. he has a squinting expression, which looks almost cruel and mocking. anyways, we see that he’s begun to cover his face, it feels as if it’s an attempt to hide “zandik”. by the time he is 35, he has now begun to cover his eyes. i know that in the model it’s because the segments have some device under their eyes, but personally i feel this is very reflective of the “eyes are windows to the soul” concept. his soul, zandiks soul, is now fragmented, but by the time he’s 35 he begins to cover his eyes, which almost feels as if he’s covering zandiks soul. we see his outfit becomes more restrained as well, which furthers that hes confining himself to the role of the doctor. same goes for 45, who now wears the fatui coat as well, further hiding more of zandik. and then of course, 65 is the biggest example of this as his entire face is covered and you truly could not tell that that is even zandik anymore. segment 35 interests me the most as he describes himself as the most selfish. to me, this implies that by the time he’s accepted the role of the doctor, when he first began to cover his face and truly consider himself just dottore, was when he began to selfishly reject zandik. this was the point and mindset in his life where he accepted that he is no longer human, and that he rejects mortal fears because he is not mortal zandik, he is dottore. making a segment at this time of his life must’ve been zandiks greatest blunder, as his mindset was the most indulgent in his role, as if this was when he finally accepted he can never go back to being zandik, and yet fate will always treat him as an outcast. but at the same time, i also feel that this was dottores way of coping, he accepted the role because he was hiding behind it. he did not want to accept that he’s human and feels these human things, he wanted to reject that mortal part of him, the same way everyone else did. i feel that it’s very ironic for zandik to be so outcasted, so rejected, that in the end even dottore did not want him. i think what the most ironic thing is that he wanted to create a new world, one where the people of teyvat are not restricted by the fate bestowed upon them by the heavenly principles, and yet, dottore killing zandik, rejecting him, was that feeding into that very fate?was zandik not once again a victim of fate? #fyp #GenshinImpact #dottoregenshinimpact #dottore #genshin
