@ashleyd_t_: Replying to @Pamela Grier Did you know they used an I instead of a J in old English? #psalms #yhwh #biblereading #antique #bibleverse

God’s name is Holy and can not be said by humans so there is no real translation for it. That is why it was changed over time. It is not really Jehovah either. We just add vowels so it is pronounceable to us

What about Yahusha or Yauah?. There's a group of people who say Jesus is these names. Does this name appear at all?

Yahweh – This is the pronunciation favored by most modern biblical scholars based on linguistic evidence and ancient Greek transcriptions. * Jehovah – This arose much later (around the Middle Ages) by combining the consonants YHWH with the vowel markings from Adonai (“Lord”). It is historically significant but is generally not considered the original pronunciation.

The Spanish monk Raymundus Martini invented the name "Iehova" in 1270 CE. Before he wrote it down in his book Pugio Fidei, that word had never been spoken or written by anyone in human history. Because the letter "J" did not exist yet in the 13th century, he originally penned it with an "I". He literally took the consonants of one word, mashed them together with the vowels of a completely different word, and accidentally invented a brand-new hybrid name. Without his 13th-century linguistic blunder, the name "Iehova" would not even exist.
