This isn't about disrespecting cake makers, mehendi artists, baristas, or any skilled professional. Every honest profession deserves respect. My concern is about the growing trend of calling the completion of a one- or two-month certificate course a "graduation" and using the same cap and gown traditionally associated with years of higher education. A university graduation gown represents years of sacrifice, sleepless nights, examinations, research, failures, perseverance, and academic achievement. It symbolizes a journey that often takes three, four, five, or even more years to complete. When every short-term certificate course is presented as a graduation, it risks blurring the distinction between different levels of education. Celebrating achievement is wonderful—but not every completion ceremony needs to be called a graduation. Let's respect every skill, but also preserve the meaning and significance of academic qualifications. Not every certificate is a degree, and not every course completion is a graduation.
