pro memorizer here (self-proclaimed) and pro note-taker (I take notes while watching movies for fun) get a pen. A plain black, brown, blue, red, any color pen that won't smudge and writes smoothly. Take that pen, get a notebook, write anything, everything, write when you sneeze, write when the professor sneezes. Don't worry about them being pretty or neat. Go home/library/somewhere quiet after the lecture, rewrite the class notes you just took. Organize them, summarize, pick and choose what is really important. Studies have proven that handwriting improves cognition and absorption/understanding. Similar studies have proved repetition, summarizing, and rewriting things also improve cognition, absorption, retention, and comprehension. It's time consuming, you will develop Carpal Tunnel, but you'll understand, you'll remember, you can keep those notes forever/pass them on to others
