@abigaillinnn: This was back in 2020 when I absolutely destroyed my hair by not taking care of it (ZERO haircare routine btw), not getting haircuts for a few years due to COVID (and because I thought it was “healthier” for it) and braiding it wet every. night. and then going to bed with it still soaking wet. The first photo was after I took out my braids and brushed it - my hair type has always been 1A. When I tell people I didn’t know how to take care of it or style I quite literally had zero knowledge or motivation to learn. It didn’t help that my ends were fried off because I did a balayage back in 2017 & didn’t use heat protectant whenever I did “style” it. Again, 2020 Abby thought everything she was doing was healthy for her hair until she actually started to lock in around January 2022. That’s when I learned about serums, scalp care, hair oil, round brushing, leave in conditioner, etc. and it completely changed my hair!
