@tavelarocque: day 30 of the @higherupwellness speak your mind challenge. you don't follow the smartest person in the room. you follow the most confident one. even when they're steering you straight off a cliff. 2,400 years ago plato saw it. he described society as a ship. picture a crew where not one person actually knows how to sail, but every single one is dead certain he should be steering. so they flatter their way to the front, they shout the loudest, and whoever sounds the most sure of himself wins. meanwhile the one man who actually studied the sea, the one who genuinely knows how to navigate, gets written off as a useless dreamer and ignored. and it's everywhere. in the room, on your feed, in your own head. the loudest, most confident voice wins, and it's almost never the one who actually knows. we mistake confidence for competence every single time, because confidence feels safe and the truth usually sounds unsure. so the next time someone has you completely convinced, ask the harder question. do they actually know what they're talking about, or are they just the most confident person on the ship. #philosophy #plato #criticalthinking #mindsetmotivation
