@cbsphiladelphia: Cars driving along North Front and West Norris streets sent "waves" of water into businesses and apartment buildings Monday morning during flash flooding in Philadelphia, a witness said. Video shared with CBS News Philadelphia by Detour Resale shows water lapping at the base of buildings on the block, creeping inside and soaking the second-hand shop. The witness said it was "too much rain at once." According to the National Weather Service, 2-4 inches of rain fell, prompting a flash flood warning at the time.
I've never seen Philly flood like this until recently, I would really like to know what's REALLY going on..

It use to be back in the day where the city come around and clean out the drains they don’t do that anymore so here is the problem it’s backing up into the street and people houses and businesses they need to start cleaning them drains out again

2000 block of N Front Street. This isn’t anywhere near the Deleware River. The storm sewers should have been upgraded when all these large apartment buildings were built. Heavy rains dump far more water into the system now, since there is very little open ground to absorb rainwater water. Don’t blame Mayor Parker. She wasn’t in office when most of this is built. The issue lies solely with the planning and zoning departments.
