Pretty much what happened to me last month and she moved out very quickly. It was a shock initially, but we have remained friends and are slowly building something new, different and platonic between us. Its not impossible we'll end up back together, but I don't feel that's the intent or goal behind allowing ourselves to remain in each other's lives

This!! I had to say out loud to my best friend of 20 years and romantic partner of 4 years that I was afraid we were starting to not like each other with so much history proving that we adored each other.
