Pretty much what happened to me last month and she moved out very quickly. It was a shock initially, but we have remained friends and are slowly building something new, different and platonic between us. Its not impossible we'll end up back together, but I don't feel that's the intent or goal behind allowing ourselves to remain in each other's lives

This!! I had to say out loud to my best friend of 20 years and romantic partner of 4 years that I was afraid we were starting to not like each other with so much history proving that we adored each other. Best thing to do: If you partner doesn't want you, leave them. It's the best for the both of you. If they crave freedom, give it to them. If being in a relationship makes them feel trapped, they aren't ready for one. Move on and let yourself be with someone who is, cus there is someone out there who wants all of you, not just the good.
